The Concordia University Support Staff Union was established in Montreal, on December 3rd, 1989. CUSSU currently has a little over 400 members.
CUSSU is affiliated with the Confederation des Syndicats Nationaux (CSN), the Federation des employees et employes des services publics (FEESP), and the Conseil Central de Montreal Metropolitain (CCMM).
The Union subscribes to the declaration of principles of the CSN and has as its objectives the examination and improvement of the social, professional, economic and environmental interest of its members. These goals shall be pursued collectively and include the negotiation and conclusion of a collective agreement, precluding any form of discrimination based on race, sex, language, disability, political opinion, religion or sexual orientation. The Union shall also seek to ally itself with similar union organizations.
